Three True Blood Alum to Appear in True Detective
True Blood alumni James Frain (Franklin Mott), Riley Smith (Arlene’s beau Keith) and Ashley Hinshaw (Jason’s eventual wife Brigette) are returning to HBO with co-starring roles in True Detective season 2.
The second installment in the crime franchise revolves around three police officers, played by Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams, and a career criminal, played by Vince Vaughn, who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.
Frain will play Jeff Hunt, a ruthless police lieutenant; Smith will play McAdams’ boyfriend, Steve Mercier, a boyish Sheriff’s deputy; and Hinshaw plays a troubled starlet.
True Detective is expected to assume True Blood‘s Sunday night spot in Summer 2015 on HBO.
