True Blood to air on TNT

True Blood will begin airing on cable network TNT in the United States beginning Saturday, February 18 after the NBA All Star game, Variety reports. After that initial broadcast, episodes will air Mondays at 10 p.m. Eastern.

Because this is cable TV, not premium cable, the episodes will be edited for content and for commercial breaks. The edited episodes will still fall within the TV-MA rating, but if history is any indicator, we can expect less nudity and gore. I remember watching Sex and the City for the first time on TBS as a poor college student who couldn’t afford HBO. And let me tell you, in no way did that prepare me for Sookie Stackhouse getting the HBO treatment! As Charlaine Harris noted, this will be the version for those of us who had to watch a lot of True Blood with our hands over our eyes.

Unedited episodes of True Blood are still available to stream on HBO Max and Hulu.
