Alan Ball to Launch New Series on Cinemax

True Blood executive producer Alan Ball will spend his hiatus working on a new series for HBO sister network Cinemax. Per the L.A. Times, Alan is executive producing Banshee, a series set in a small town in Banshee, PA, in Amish Country. The show will feature “an enigmatic ex-con who’s also an expert in martial arts” who poses as a murdered sheriff. There will be no supernatural element to the series, despite the name.

Banshee is not expected to interfere with Alan’s work on True Blood.
