Michael McMillian’s New Comic Adventure Van

Michael McMillian has many talents – on and off screen. For years known as Steve Newlin, McMillian was also writing the True Blood comic and helping to create the book Steve Newlin’s Field Guide to Vampires, but now he’s breaking out into something totally different from True Blood with his own comic from Golden Apple Press.

Adventure Van, McMillian’s new project, is a tale of a young man who finds out he’s the heir to a fantasy kingdom, long thought to just be the mythic world of his uncle’s books. The first issue is out today, but last month, I had the chance to sit down with McMillian at Comic Con to ask about the book, and how writing it was different from all his work with the True Blood‘s comics.

The first issue is great at setting up the life of McMillian’s new hero, and already I’m dying to know more of what’s to come in Kansas or Bravas.
