True Blood Wardrobe Q&A: Eric, Eric, Eric!

We’re back! True Blood season 3 ended months ago, but questions about the fashion are continuing to arrive in my inbox. Costume designer Audrey Fisher is hard at work on True Blood season 4, but she did take some time to answer your questions about what it is and where to find it. Unfortunately, considering it’s been 8-12 months since she sourced the pieces for production, many items are no longer available. We’ll try to find something similar for you, though, starting with Eric Northman and his unique style.

Q. I’m dying to find the designer of Eric’s necklace from Season 3. Hope you guys can find it…I know I’m not the only curious fan! I’m a huge fan of the site! Thank you! – Sherry

A. Eric wore two necklaces during season 3, so we asked Audrey about both. The first is a beetle’s mandible, which she found at Traffic in the Beverly Center in LA. The second necklace is an Alex and Chloe punk stud ‘bullet’ necklace, which is available in several finishes.

Q. My name is Trinh and I am a huge fan of True Blood and your website! I wanted to email you and ask a favor of you ladies. A special day is coming up for my boyfriend and I and I still don’t have a gift for him! However, I do know that he really was in love with a jacket that Eric Northman had wore in the first episode of season 3. It is not a full leather jacket but it seems the collar is the only thing that’s leather. – Trinh

A. Your boyfriend (and Eric) has expensive taste! Audrey tells us that the jacket in question is a slim fitting velvet sportcoat by Hugo Boss. Eric’s wearing it with the collar flipped up, showing the satin lining. (I thought it was leather, too.) You’re in luck, though: right now the jacket is on sale for just $476.99, marked down from $595.

Q. Eric looked so gorgeous in that blue-green sweater he wore in several episodes of season 3. I’m pretty sure it was cashmere, but do you know the brand? – Amy

A. As a matter of fact, I do! It’s a v-neck cashmere-cotton blend from J. Crew. This is a classic piece, so you’ll be able to find it at least 3 seasons out of the year. The shades do vary by season, but right now they have it in Southport Green which is pretty close to what Eric wore.
