True Blood News Round Up: Music, Forbes, & Ratings

True Blood is taking over the news with items ranging from who’s the most powerful vampire to reviews of music used on the show. Here’s your quick list of articles to check out:

  • True Blood hit another ratings record on Sunday with approximately 4.3 million viewers tuning in to the first broadcast of “Release Me”. Well done!
  • Forbes, best known for their rankings of richest people in the world, created a list of Hollywood’s most powerful vampires. Our own Bill Compton tops this list this year, but one has to wonder if Eric will usurp him on next year’s list. And in case you were wondering, Count von Count from Sesame Street ranks eighth.
  • Jef (with one F) at Houston’s Rocks Off is taking a closer look at the music used in episodes of True Blood. Did you know that Bad Livers, the band whose song  “Death Trip”  is used in the credits of “Release Me”, originally sang gospel music? Go figure.
  • Michael McMillian (aka creepy Pastor Steve Newlin) is launching a comic book titled “Lucid” under Zachary Quinto’s Before the Door publishing shingle. The six-issue series will be distributed by Archaia later this year.
