True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten To Play Superhero

We knew Ryan Kwanten was filming a movie in Sydney, Australia during True Blood‘s hiatus, and now we have some details about the film thanks to TVNZ, a New Zealand entertainment site. Ryan will play a superhero in Griff the Invisible, a romantic comedy due for release in 2010.
Griff is an office worker by day and a superhero by night, a role Ryan says is “such an original and boundless character to play. Every boy dreams of being a superhero and I’ve accepted my mission to bring this one to life.” Griff’s world is turned upside down when he meets Melody, a beautiful scientist, played by Maeve Dermody.
Ironically, news came late last week that a US-funded superhero movie, The Green Lantern, will not be filming in Australia as originally planned due to budget concerns. Looks like Griff the Invisible already defeated his first rival, although the green guy might end up in Louisiana instead. It really is a small world, after all.
