  1. Tiera says:

i’m thinking they’ll use the Caroline flashbacks to reveal the Bellefleurs are related to Bill.

don’t remember Talbot being a vampire in the books…

would they have already cast an Alcide but haven’t revealed it?

    • Loneise says:

Talbot is not a vampire in the books. Remember Sookie could read is mind when she was searching for Bill. Furthermore, I hope they don’t keep us waiting on who is playing Alcide. I’m already o explode by waiting to June for the new season.

    • Jennixst says:

I’m pretty sure he was human. Wasn’t he the one that Sookie was listening in to at Club Dead before the were man-handles her? Because the King of Mississippi marries someone else in All Together Dead.

  2. Sherri says:

yes they would have cast an alicide and wouldn’t release. it’s all about the suspence and waiting. thats usually how they do things. by waiting til the last minute. hahaha.

  3. Wy, did True Blood never came out as movie, like Twiligth, it would have made more money, and it’s just as addicting. The vampires in True Blood are more real, specialy, there teeth,I can’t wait for epp.3

  4. CHEVORLADY says:

I think that ( I KNOW THAT THIS IS CRAZY) the wrestler Triple H should play Alicde. I think he has the look of a were, and he fits the mold of him.

  5. charlene says:

I really think that they have already cast Rudy Reyes as Alcide. If you recall he played himself in “Generation Kill.” Rumors were flying about this, and he will not commit. He would make a beautiful were :)

  6. kate says:

i think true blood being a tv series rather than a series of movies is a better idea. first of all there are already a trillion vampire movies out there, and basically they all suck (no pun intended)…
and there are too many books, and too many areas in those books to cover for it to be a movie… the show gets to cover more of those areas and explore other alternatives which i like. :)

plus we get more hours of it on tv than as movies. :P

    • Melony says:

I totally agree! You can never match a book word for word but using a tv show allows for more details in the backstories and the characters. Imagine how much they would have cut in a movie! PLUS………Twilight sucks.

  7. Kay says:

I do beleive that charlaine harris books are my fav out of all that i read. I read a ton in charlaines genre. But dont say twillight sucks! Those books are a masterpiece. The movies are a teen dream and not for me but those books are very good! Iam a huge fan of the sookie collection and have read every book. Love the show it is very addictive and cant wait for the next season. But honestly Iam not a fan of Anna Paquin. Ill see how i feel when this season comes out she is growing on me but i just think of sookie differently. The boys have all been cast beautifuly! :) anyways just sharing my thoughts!

  8. Mikaela says:

Just a query after the reviews i have read the True Blood books apparently get pretty crappy after about the fifth or sixth book. I have read the first three and liked them but haven’t bothered to order any more. I have watched series 1 & 2 and am addicted, cant wait for series 3 to come out.

    cheers

    • Ginger says:

The fourth book was my favorite, and I think the only one I didn’t particularly care for was the last one. I will read the next one anyway. I actually enjoy the show more than the books because Eric and Pam are so much more bad ass than in the book series. I am hoping that this season gives us more of them in particular, and I am excited to see that there was casting done for Lafayette’s mom, because that means he gets more storylines. Yay! He’s my favorite character on the show. (I was hoping Eric would turn him as he proposed, though.)

    • Stacie says:

After being left high and dry for so long between airing of seasons I decided I just had to read the books. I am SO glad that I did. I’m finishing the last one (so far) and read all of them in about three weeks. I don’t when I have enjoyed books more! They are all great. I’ll have to admit however, that unlike some of the other viewers, I wish they hadn’t changed so much from book to tv. I’ve read several books made into movies and I know there are always changes, but I’ll be interested to see how the rest of the seasons progress. I will always love the tv series, but I think I love the books more!!

      • brittany says:

no dout i love the book way more, but also loving the tv shows to. It is that love hate thing.!.

      • Betsy says:

It’s tough… there are just too many books for the show to keep in line with them. So I don’t blame them for changing it so much. They have to introduce characters early, and even new ones. I like how the show did keep Lafayette around though!

  9. Mikaela says:

Another note to all vampire addicts while in between books and seasons, there is an awesome series of books called Almost Human written by Melanie Nowak. It is a series of 12 books with only 3 released so far with the 4th almost ready. The series is available thru Amazon.com. I have read a lot of books and this set is up there with the best of them.

    Cheers

  10. Christina says:

I am a trueblood addict. I just hope that they keep it more adult and don’t start recruting really young actors for the roles…. Twilight is for teens…. trueblood is for adults. Let’s keep on track. Glad Marryann is gone… didn’t really care for her. I have read all the trueblood books and suggest everyone read…. Kim Harrison.

  11. Lilina says:

I just finished watching the true blood seasons 1 and 2, and i absolutly love it! i love the vampire things. and i totally agree with the whole tv series better than movies. the twilight movies arent that good, i perfer the books. The Vampire Diares series i like a lot, but i do have to say true blood is my favorite. i honestly didnt know that the the tv series came from books, but i should of guessed lol. im curious, and would like to read the books but i dont know what they are called. Im sooo excited for season 3 and im mad that it doesnt come out til june! lol but at least i have vampire diares starting this month, its better than nothing lol.

  12. Colleen says:

Hey Guys! I’m excited about the casting choice for season 3! I am shocked though about there being an “Eric’s lover”…. I did not expect that! Who do you all think would be a good actor to play Quinn??

    • Jovhanna says:

I think Shemar Moore would be an excellent Quinn for true blood. In fact he is exactlly how I pictured him from the books what do you all think.

      • Annie says:

I’ve read the Sookie Stack House books and I love the True Blood Series! They are both very different so i’m still interested in the series cause you don’t know whats going to happen. I think the new casting is great and I can’t WAIT to see Quinn!!! I would recommend Dewayne Johnson, Vin Diseal, Jason Statham and Shemar Moore. I know there movie actors but who ever they cast to fill Quinn has to make a presence in the room, in the book he such a presences even to the vampires who don’t think highly of anyone. Calvin will be another great cast to see, David Morse. I so wish they would have casted a bubba, but I understand why he kept him out. Mia Kirschner would make an awesome Debbie Pelt!!! I look forward to new cast as they continue on with the series~

    • Ruth Nieves says:

I hope they don’t cast Quinn at all! He is really the only character in the books that I just couldn’t stand for some reason. He was super-cheesie and Sookie’s got enough boys in her life…Alan can leave one out – lol!

  13. Zl says:

In regards to casting Quinn …. I do not think Vin Diesel, or someone too similar, would make a good Quinn. If Vin Deisel where to shift i could see a primate rather than a tiger. Just not sleek enough.
I was thinking Quinn being along the lines of Mads Mikkelsen in the Pusher II movie (not the character but he has a rippin bod in this and can pull off a bald head just fine). He and the movie are Danish.

  14. natalieejayne says:

Eric’s lover?! No way! Talbot wasn’t a vampire in the book. I love the show, i really do, but i think they’ve strayed too far from the books. oh, and by the way, they’ve casted someone to be Lafayette’s lover as well. Can’t wait too see who Quinn will be :)

  15. Kathryn says:

Love the books and I really liked season one. All the stuff with Maryanne got boring after awhile. It kept dragging on and on. I liked the maenad story line from the books. It was shorter, but it would have translated well to TV, in my opinion.

    Can’t wait for season three!!!

  16. evelyn says:

i think this is awesome because i love watching true blood and i cannot wait until the third season comes because i love it by the way stephen moyer and anna paquin make a really good couple

  17. Teri says:

Ok, if you read the book, then you would know that Talbot was the human lover of Russell {King of MS} and the one whose mind Sookie read to discover that they did have Bill and he was being tortured.

    • Betsy says:

I think they’re trying to speed up the process and combine characters. Since King of MS’s vampire husband doesn’t come along till book 7 (I think), they want to speed it up and just make Talbot a vampire….that’s all I can think of why they would make Talbot a vampire when he was human in the books.

  18. Loes says:

It’s a bit sad that Cooper Huckabee is called the wife of Melinda don’t you think haha!
    Poor guy!

    Love the serie!
    And the books also!
I’m so glad that there available in holland!
Though they don’t shoot the tv-serie here, to bad, a lot of people love it!!

Can’t wait for season 3 to begin!

  19. Efa says:

how can Sams younger brother be a possible shifter if only the first born is meant to be? If Crystal is in this season does that me Calvin Norris is too??

  20. Jenna says:

I am a True Blood Addict!!! I watched the first season STRAIGHT through. Literally. And simply had to purchase all the books for my Kindle; I could not put them down.

Twilight is for tweens, and a great segway into the vampire lit genre for younger fans.

Quinn needs to be brawny and hilarious… My vote is for a wrestler, but sticking to True Blood tradition we will all undoubtedly be surprised by some virtual unknown or unsung actor that is simply brilliant for the part. Because, honestly, would you ever expect Meekus from “Zoolander” to be the Amazing viking vamp we all fell in love with? :)

I would literally give my left arm to play Debbie Pelt. But I would settle for knowing Who she will be played by. I know she’s awful but there is something about her prowess you have to love; it is akin to an evil flip of Pam. (Who I think is the most hilarious and relatable character on the show. She’s fabulous).

Alan Ball is a genius and I completely trust his vision for these books I so love.

Keep up the good work True Blood Team!!!

  21. Lani says:

I have read all the books and love them, I have season one of True blood on dvd and season 2 will be delivered in a couple of days. None of the names suggested for Quinn come any where near how I picture him. Unfortunately I cannot think of any actors that look remotely like the image in my head, maybe there is an unknown actor out there that will be perfect for the part. Joe Manganiello is actually exactly what I imagined Alcide to look like and I have never watched One Tree Hill, so had never seen him before. I really hope that True Blood run as as long as the books :)

  22. Eileen says:

    Can some pleeeese tell me why they haven’t brought BUBBA out yet. Im dying to see how he’ll fit on the show, or is would that be too much for some E… fans. {not sure if we are alowed to say is name}

  23. Jodi says:

Did I see that right in the casting spoilers? Sam’s mom is married to a woman. It looks like there is an actress playng Melinda (sam’s mom)’s “wife” . That is just too weird for me. I’ve always described Alan Ball as a sexual perv though because of some of the other additions he has made to Charlaine’s series. Season two being the worst. While I emjopyed the majority of S1, I won’t waste my money on buying S2 because of the whole Maryann storyline. It sucked the first time so I wouldn’t pay to watch it again. Looking forward to S3.

    • Mel says:

Nope, it was just a typo. Sorry to hear you hated season 2 so much, but glad you decided to give season 3 a shot.

    • Wendy Adams says:

I agree, the Marianne story line in Season 2 was boring. It was almost like watching a porn movie sometimes!! I was just introduced to the whole Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood thing when my mom gave me the first 3 books a week ago. Since then I have ordered the entire book series (waiting still very impatiently), I have watched most of Season 1 (waiting for the last 2 dvd to come in to see the rest) and have watched Season 2 through HBO On Demand. I did not go to bed Friday night because I couldn’t resist turning on the next episode! I actually watched it a second time on Sunday, and I mainly fast forwarded it through the Marianne part. I mainly just like watching the Sookie/Bill/Eric parts. I am actually starting to read Book 3 again to bide my time until the rest of the books come in. I can’t wait. And I can’t wait for Season 3 to come out! But I’m sure I will be Buy Seasons 1 and 2 so I can watch them again.

  24. Rhiannon says:

I’ve got to say, I’m admittedly hooked on the show, and can’t wait for the next season. To be completely honest it’s driving me crazy. WTF happened to Bill!?
Oh, and Sookie absolutely aggrivates me, to the point of sometimes wishing her character a slow and painful death. Maybe a were could rip out her throat or something…
Who knows. I’m just curious as to “what” she really is..
(Why does she aggrivate me? Her apprehension to being with the one person who’ll love her for eternity. That and she’s always got hot supernatural men fawning over her. I don’t get it. She’s too perky.)

    • J-say says:

i hate to burst the bubble there but nothing will happen to sookie anytime soon. The whole series is about here. If you read the books you will have all of your questions answered and it is a great way to pass the time while awaiting the third season. But as far as the books go the whole series is about sookie. all the other characters are there to make HER life interesting.

  25. shirley says:

i can’t wan’t to see is the true blood is.if bill is going get way and hope sock is going to yes to bill angain.when is going to be on the 3 season i know to so i can watch if on hbo .
like bill and eric they are look hottts and jason too.
    shirley

  26. caroljean says:

I enjoy True Blood. I have read three of the books and they are good, but the show is great, can not wait for the new season.

  27. ashlei says:

omg. tara and a vamp??? :)

    • Betsy says:

Yep! She gets involved with Franklin in the book. Let’s just say it leads to a major conflict ;) Of course, in the books Tara’s character is so different than in the show!

  28. Tia says:

Omj, when does the new season start???

  29. team anyone but Bill says:

I love the show, and love the bookes 100 times more. Quinn is the only real competition Eric ever gets, I hope he is back in the next book! I agree that they shod cast a unknown actor as Quinn. And I am so sad that they made Talbot a vamp… Now we will never see the wedding in Rhodes.

  30. Dave says:

    Sheesh! Cast Debbie Pelt already!

  31. Fredrik Ohlsen says:

To the writers and directors!!! Please make it so that the one and only Dolph Lundgren play Erics father in the series!!! He speaks swedish and is huge as a viking and actually could go for his father. They both are tall etc. This is a opurtunity of a lifetime!!!! Don´t miss this chance to make tv-history. He would be fantastic!!! You can thank me later. ;)

  32. anna says:

OMG! Can’t wait season 3. I am a huge fan from Poland! This Sat. the last episode of season 2 will be aired here.

Love your site by the way! Especially the interviews!

  33. Fred Lomprez says:

When does the new season premier?

  34. Reza in StL says:

As far as the guesses go that Yvetta is a human, I think it’s actually safer to assume that she’s a vampire. ALL the dancers in the Fangtasia scenes on the TB show have been vampires.

  35. Erica says:

Loves S1 and S2. Is patientlt waiting on Season 3. Haven’t read the books though. I think I’ll try to go find them!

  36. J-say says:

I just got into trueblood I downloaded season 1 & 2 which is now on my Ipod. I found out there were books and read all nine in 1 week. I am now currently awating book number 10 & season 3. I just want sookie and eric to get together already in the tv series. Eric is completly YUMMY.

  37. kelly holdman says:

finally my true blood is comming back yeah!!!!!! i miss it so much im so hooked

  38. Betsy says:

So excited for season 3! Not that I don’t like Twilight or Vampire Diaries, but True Blood is waaayyy better! The vamps in True Blood are the closest to classic vampires. No glittery vamps or day-time walking vamps in True Blood!

  39. Katie says:

Where is Bubba?! Will he not be included in Season 3?

    • Mel says:

Alan Ball has stated on multiple occasions that he will not be bringing Bubba on the show. He cannot get clearance from Presley’s estate to use his likeness.

  40. maria says:

will they ever put bubba in the show? he is an important part of the books and is very funny, does anyone know if they plan to put him in the show?

    • Mel says:

As noted above, Alan Ball has stated on multiple occasions that he will not be bringing Bubba on the show. He cannot get clearance from Presley’s estate to use his likeness.

  41. Coop says:

Here is my perfect True Blood cast:

Alcide – Johnny Messner: Relatively unknown played in Running Scared & Anaconda II

Claudine – Meagan Fox (younger) Cindy Margolis (older)

Claude – Jason Lewis: Absolute Hunk from Sex and the City

Calvin Norris – Joe Rogan: Former Fear Factor Host, UFC host

Dr. Ludwig – Linda Hunt: She played in She Devil and If Looks Could Kill

Barry – Frankie Muniz: Malcolm from Malcolm in the Middle

Mr. Cataliades – David H. Lawrence XVII: The Puppet Master from NBC’s Heroes

Niall – Jason Isaacs: Plays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies

Amelia – Selma Blair: Plays the fire girl in the Hellboy movies

  42. Joan D says:

Some names not on your updated list:
Dawn Oliviera – Janice Herveaux, Alcide’s Sister, owns beauty shop

Ethan Stone – as Hollis a bouncer in a vampire bar

CC Sheffield – Missy (Jason’s GF)

Tess Alexander – Rosey (Jason’s GF)

    Andy Mackenzie – Creepy Biker

James Harvey Ward – Felton Norris is a relative of Calvin’s who strips Lafayette’s car and helps beat up Lafayette.

    Sylvianne Chebance – Were-*****

    Tamara Frapasella – Henchwoman

John Rezig – Deputy Kevin E

    Don Swaze- Gus

  43. Anne says:

I don`t know if I agree with all the choices above, but i TOTALLY agree that even with this actor the tird season will be AWESOME!!!
    Simply can not wait!!
