True Blood Friday Five: New Characters for Season 3

We’ve had many great suggestions from True Blood fans from past giveaway contests, emails and discussions going on in our forum, having to do with top favorites of different categories. Ranging from clothing accessories to quotes, Truebies all have their lists ready to pull out and talk about with each other. Mel and I thought it would be great fun to put all of our own lists in a new series, the Friday Five, and we are beginning with the top five most anticipated new characters being introduced in True Blood season 3. Let’s go!

  1. Alcide Herveaux – Topping the list, Alcide has probably been the most anticipated character making his debut in season 3. Joe Manganiello has the honor of being cast in the role that is probably going to make Sookie’s life more interesting. Oh, and he’s a werewolf.
  2. Debbie Pelt – Soon after Alcide was announced, Truebies began looking for his ex-girlfriend, Debbie Pelt. They didn’t have too long to wait. Brit Morgan will play the psycho-were who’s had an on again, off again relationship with Alcide, and manages to royally tick off Sookie as well.
  3. Crystal Norris – Crystal is being introduced earlier than she was in the books, but the fact that Lindsay Pulsipher won the role made me pretty excited about her character being bumped up to this season. She’s a were-panther that becomes involved with Jason (Ryan Kwanten) but we don’t know yet how Alan Ball will deal with her. It’s one of the many surprises in store for us!
  4. Calvin Norris – He is Crystal’s uncle and the leader in the odd little community called Hotshot. Throughout the season, he will become more embroiled in the Stackhouse’s lives. Gregory Sporleder brings the character to life.
  5. Franklin Mott – Tara (Rutina Wesley) gets a new man in the form of Franklin Mott, this season. According to spoilers, Mott will swoop into Tara’s life suddenly but he may not be what Tara expects in the long run. We meet him in the first episode of the season and although he wasn’t a huge character in the books, Alan Ball will bring him more into focus on his show. I, for one, am glad because, well, James Frain is playing Mott and that’s enough for me.

So what do you think? Does our list pretty much look like yours?
