Oh my.  The latest True Blood teaser from HBO features a pairing many fans have been clamoring for, but I don’t know that seeing Eric and Sookie together like this is quite what they had in mind.

True Blood season 3 premieres Sunday, June 13 on HBO. Are you excited yet?

Fan of the Southern Vampire Mysteries since 2001, and co-admin of since 2008. Team Sookie!

I have read all the books! Why is Sookie shooting Eric? I can’t wait!

I don’t believe Sookie is shooting Eric. Eric would never jump to take a bullet, so I think he’s protecting Sookie. Sookie isn’t in shot because the take is a dummy run or is being used for the FX shot – it will show Eric’s vampiric speed.

I think the were goes to shoot Sookie (he uses a gun so no one suspects were involvement – harder to trace, hence Eric’s comment about ‘who sent you’) Eric takes the bullet for her, the were and Eric get into a fight, the were drops the gun and Sookie picks it up to try and shoot the were/protect herself from further attack.

From both clips you can see the were is the antagonist so it makes no sense for Sookie to shoot Eric.

The marker says it’s from Season 3, Episode 3 so if it’s Debbie they’ll be skipping a ton of story…like a year’s worth.

Umm, they already have. Remember, in the books Lafayette is dead already, Jessica was never created – need I go on? They have said countless times the series will follow the books, but not BE the books in action.

according to the book… they send a werewolf after sookie at merlotts, Bubba kills him.
maybe they changed it to Eric?
or might be when they come back from jackson and get attacked by werewolves…

OMG, I love true blood soooo much. I live in London and last night was the finale of season two, which Im sad about because I’ve got forever to wait 4 untill season 3 to come to England unlike America where it shows June 13th ( you lucky, lucky people, lol)
But I saw the promo for season 3 and I saw eric gettin shot and sookie wiv a gun in her hand, and I did scream WTF wen I saw it, I was like how could sookie do that to eric.
However, I’ve come to conclusion that she dosent shoot him intentionly, if she shoots him at all.
I things get out of hand, coz of this thing that has been sent 4 sookie and I think that eric takes the bullet somehow.

This is the scene that comes right after Eric goes in Sookie’s house and comes face to face with the werewolf. They get ready to fight and Sookie tries to shoot the were, but Eric steps in front of the bullet. Because with the were dead he would never find out who their master is, which is something he doesn’t know. If you pay attention to the flashback scenes with him and Godric and them finding out the were master is a vampire you get that they never found out that the werewolfes are controlled by the Mississippi King.
And there is another sneak peak spoiler showing Eric on the floor, shot, asking the were who is master is and the were attacking him. So yeah..just makes sense. Sookie wasn’t trying to shoot Eric and he wasn’t trying to protect her from anything.
