True Blood News: James Frain, New Jessica Merchandise and More

I’m hours away from getting to the airport to catch my flight to San Diego for Comic Con, but I wanted to make sure you, our lovely readers, were kept up to date with whatever news is out there.

Herz from REVIEWniverse.com has a great article posted about James Frain’s portrayal of the sexy, sinister and a bit loopy, Franklin Mott. “Tara’s melodramatic, undead paramour emerged as the show’s funniest new foil since Maryann. Prior to last night’s fifth episode of Season 3, “Trouble,” I was ready to pen a column about how True Blood has lost its way and gotten too caught up in viral gimmickry like Snoop Dogg’s Snookie ode, those silly postmortems and even the “we get it” crimson graphics that now drip over their mandate adult-content disclaimers. But…” (Read the entire article at The Examiner.) I have to agree with Herz, Frain was amazing in Sunday night’s episode. I think I’m supposed to dislike Franklin Mott, but it’s very hard to do when James Frain is playing him so well. He totally nailed this character.

Have you been following Jessica’s “BabyVamp” blog? She’s breaking hearts over there. Watch her video appeal to Bill to come home. She’ll make you cry! Maybe having her own line of merchandise in the HBO Shop will make her feel just a little bit better.

Matt posted his recap of “Trouble” which you can read at The Examiner. He breaks it down character by character, so if you had a difficult time keeping up with this jam-packed, speedy episode, this will put things in order for you.

Now I must resume my packing. Where the heck is that list?

Over-night fan (almost literally) of the Sookie Stackhouse series since early 2008. Co-owner of True-Blood.net. Anxiously anticipating season 6.
