True Blood Fashion Q&A: Lorena’s Blouse, Fairy Dresses

True Blood sure knows how to dress their cast, often resulting in “where can I get that?” emails to us after an episode airs. If we get enough inquiries about an item, we’ll do our best to get the details for you, usually straight from the source – True Blood costume designer Audrey Fisher. This week we had emails about two items, and Audrey was kind enough to help us out.

True Blood fashion question: where can I find Lorena's ruffled blouse?

Lorena's ruffled blouse is actually a dress.

Q. Do you have a contact in Costume Design for the show?  I am really looking for the designer of the white ruffled top that Lorena wore (the one she died in) last episode.  If you have any information, can you please let me know?  I really want my mom to wear it for my wedding :)  Thanks!  Jill

A. We sure do have a contact, Jill, and we took your query to Audrey Fisher herself! Here’s what she said: “The Lorena outfit is actually a one-piece dress, white halter top attached to black skirt, by Bebe. I have a feeling it’s already out of stores since I bought it about 3 months ago.”

But wait! You’re in luck, the dress is still available from Bebe! It looks like Audrey altered the neckline from the off-the-rack version, which you could have a tailor do easily enough. At just $139, that’s going to be one stunning Mother of the Bride, without breaking the bank.

True Blood fashion: where can I find the fairy dress Sookie wore?

Sookie & Claudine dress in couture.

Q.  Could you find out who makes the dresses from Sookie’s coma (with the fairies)? I know a lot of people I have talked with about it want to know the designer of the dresses?  Thanks! Love your work! Melissa

A. We initially suspected these dresses were the handiwork of Audrey herself, because she does love to dress Sookie. Not so as Audrey reveals:  “Sookie and Claudine’s fairy dresses are by a Danish couture house called Trash Couture. Check out their website. They also have a facebook page, search for Trash-Couture! They sell to some high-end retailers in the states; their pieces are totally amazing. I’m a fan!”

We hope this helps, Truebies! If you have a burning question, fashion-related or otherwise, feel free to contact us and we’ll do our best to find the answer for you.

Actually, the neckline was not altered.

The real dress is this dress: http://www.amazon.com/Ruffle-and-Rosette-Halter-Dress/dp/B002R6CSRI?tag=proje423-20

    And it is sold out.

I bought it for myself last December. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to see my favorite dress show up on my favorite HBO series! Bebe has been doing a lot of similarly styled black and white/0ff-white dresses faux-two-piece dresses, so they’re bound to be carrying a dress that at least looks similar to the one used in the episode.

Thanks for finding the right link, Erica! I still think you could alter the current style to look like Lorena’s, but I stand (or sit) corrected. :)

  2. Jennifer says:

I have been looking everywhere for screenshot of her in the last episodes. I loved the color of her nails and lipstick that she wears with this outfit. Any idea how I could find out what color they used?

Does anyone happen to know who makes the jacket Felton Norris (James Harvey Ward) was wearing in the episode “Everything is Broken”? He’s wearing it in the scene where he finds Crystal in Jason’s house, It’s some kind of Moto racer jakcet
