Peter Macdissi cast in True Blood season 4Well this certainly sheds some like on things. Deadline has the scoop on a new character for True Blood season 4 who has ties to the Spanish Inquisition, torture, and witches: Peter Macdissi has been cast as Luis Patiño, a vampire sheriff in Louisiana, who harbors a troubled past.

We’ve been seeing references to the Spanish Inquisition in casting calls over the past few months and speculating that it had something to do with the witch war. This Luis character seems to confirm that it does play a part in why the witches are waging war on the vampires. Also interesting is that Luis is a vampire sheriff in Louisiana. How close is he to Eric?

Peter Macdissi is a frequent collaborator with Alan Ball, having appeared in his feature film Towelhead and as a recurring character in Six Feet Under.

True Blood premieres June 26 on HBO.
