Before Sookie There Was ‘Margaret’

Before Anna Paquin began stalking Alan Ball for the Sookie Stackhouse role, she starred in another film that has only now gotten a release date. Kenneth Lonergan’s Margaret is set for a limited release on September 30, 2011. The film wrapped back in 2005, but due to legal battles and editing issues, it’s been hung up until director Martin Scorsese jumped in to help Lonergan bring his three-hour film down to two, as per his contract with Fox Searchlight.

The cast includes  Mark Ruffalo, Matt Damon, Matthew Broderick, Jean Renoand Olivia Thirlby. The short synopsis reads: “A young woman (Paquin) witnesses a bus accident, and is caught up in the aftermath, where the question of whether or not it was intentional affects many people’s lives.”

Over-night fan (almost literally) of the Sookie Stackhouse series since early 2008. Co-owner of True-Blood.net. Anxiously anticipating season 6.
