Grant Bowler – you know, “You killed my Cooter!” – has snagged the lead in the new Syfy series Defiance, the network announced today.

Grant Bowler to host The Amazing Race AustraliaDefiance features humans and aliens living together on a “terra-formed” new Earth. Grant plays the lead character, Jeb Nolan, a former marine who lost his family during the alien conflict that resulted in the “new Earth”. After wandering in the wilderness for a while, Jeb becomes a lawman in a bustling frontier town. Sounds like a cross between Firefly and Cowboys and Aliens, huh?

Defiance goes into production in April and, when it premieres, will air alongside an online multi-player game.

Yes, it does sound like a cross between Firefly and Cowboys and Aliens and from the sounds of it Grant Bowler fits the role perfectly!!

Speaking of syfy, they have a new show called lost girl. In the show they have Faye and the way they portray them is very similar to what I pictured the Faye from true blood to be; and congrats to Grant Bowler for the roll.

From the sound of it, the casting is perfect. And to Abel, I watched the first episode when it aired. Loved the show, and agree whole heartedly. I can’t help but wonder if the writers are CH fans. I think that if they are, this show has a lot of promise and potential.
