SPOILERS: We’ve Got a Mother of a Scoop!

Well they sure kept this a secret! Guess who’s returning to Bon Temps this season?  Mama Reynolds! EW reports that Alfre Woodard will reprise her role as Lafayette’s schizophrenic mother, Ruby Jean, in at least two episodes of True Blood this season. HBO confirmed that she’ll appear in episodes 5.05 and 5.06, then dangled the “and possibly more” carrot.

We last saw Ruby Jean in season 3 when she was in a mental hospital under the care of Jesus, who later became Lala’s boyfriend and was killed at the end of season 4. Does his death have something to do with Ruby Jean’s return this season?
