POLL: Has Bill Really Turned to the Dark Side?

By  |  29 Comments

Oh Bill, what have you done? Or…have you actually done what it looks like you’re doing? The debate rages over Bill’s motives as True Blood season 5 progresses. What do you think?

[polldaddy poll=6442472]

For my part, I’m voting option #3.

NOTE: This is not an invitation for Bill bashing or personal attacks. Any comments to that effect will be deleted.

I think he’s under the spell. He’s easily lead. First Lorena, than Sophie Ann, he never would have told Sookie about Hadley. He is weak.

Thought Bill was faking it up until tonight’s episode. Having Salome transform into Sookie then into Lillith through his eyes (mind), says to me he believes in her or wants to.

This is the real Bill. No more hiding behind his personal soda fountain pretending to mainstream.

This is the real Bill and who we have been seeing off and on in those flashbacks. Bill has been fighting his humanity and mainstreaming for so long, it has to be tiring. NO MORE EXCUSES!

He’s not under anyone’s spell and he’s not pretending. He’s just weak and easily led. He is now and always has been, a prick.

No more excuses for Bill’s bad behavior.
5 seasons of that is enough.
Bill drank from Salome who is 1000 years younger than Russell, and I didn’t see the Were’s going nuts. Bill is easily influenced yes, but he is ultimately responsible for his own choices. Man-up Bill!

Bill has seen god and now he’s willing to worship. I don’t know if this is the real Bill or whatever, but he definitely has turned a very new leaf.

Bill is proven to be a weak vampire, believing in someone or thing other than himself ….that’s why Salome went to Bill she knew he is a weak vampire that can be maniplated and steered her way and his history with Lorena was as a sanguinesta and his dark side has always surfaced off and on during the 4 to almost five seasons of true blood….this is a major part of Bill and his problem ….he doesn’t have anything to believe in because he cant believe in his own self.

I don’t want to believe Bill is going dark or is dark! The hurt in Erics eyes made me tear up. I can’t wait for next week!

As to Bill being weak, I don’t agree. First of all, he was bound to Lorena, and there was nothing he could do about that until she was dead. Second, he didn’t know that Queen Sophie Ann was selling V and didn’t know that Sookie is a fairy. He didn’t sell her out to the Queen, Hadley accidentally did.

I think the reason he bit Salome so hard during the sex scene was because he was angry that she morphed into Sookie. Also I think Salome is a demon, and Lilith may be a fairy under her control.

This is off the topic of Bill, but I’m wondering if anyone else is wondering where Bud Dearborn’s wife is. In episode 8 he claimed that she was riverboat gambling, but she would’ve had to been gone an awfully long time for him to develop a relationship with Sweetie and do all of the nasty things they’ve been doing to supes at the pig farm owned by his wife’s family.

Of course Bill knew Sophie-Ann was selling V, he told Russell (and Eric sure as hell didn’t confide in him, at that point they were on the odds).
Salome didn’t morph, that was a hallucination of Bill, he’s completely influenced by this blood (no matter what it is), at this point he can’t see straight.
This has nothing to do with being weak, he’s the youngest Vampire, not even 200 years old, of course he’s effected much stronger than the rest.
And Bill’s neither entirely bad or good, nobody is, he was always struggling and now he’s crashing.

Bill found out later on that the Queen was selling V. When he went to see her to ask about what Mary Ann was, he ran into Eric, and threatened to tell the Queen that Eric was selling V. So, Bill didn’t know in the beginning that the Queen was in on it.

I’m still not convinced that Salome didn’t morph. We’ll have to wait and see.

I think that Bud’s wife was a supe too and was one of the first to go down.

Noooo poor sweet Bill! I don’t want to believe he’s turned evil but the bombings… the crazy hallucinations… I don’t know how to explain it all away! Either he’s an amazing tactical genius and will come up with something truly extraordinary to save the day or he’s lost to us! And poor Eric! I kind of just want Sookie to charge in there and blast ’em all back into their senses!

Or maybe a covert infiltration mission by Pam and Tara! Or maybe a supernatural army!! C’mon guys, someone needs to start teaming up against the crazy vamps and save our boys! 🙂

I never liked Bill! He was lying to Sookie from the start. I’m starting to think he just wanted her blood. And I definitely think its going to come out in the last 3 episodes that he had some connection to this Warlo vampire that killed Sookie’s parents. I think Eric is awesome and will save the day. It’d be nice if Bill were faking it and was secretly working with Eric but after that scene where he saw Lilith during sex I think he has truly fallen under the spell of whatever is in that blood. Side note – did anyone see Jason in the ground with Jessica?!?! Is he going to be turned into a vampire? Noooo! First Tara, now Jason? Please say it ain’t so. Not Jason. 🙁

Yeah I don’t want Jason as a vamp either. I love my Jason the way he is! That character rocks.

I’m pretty sure that person in the ground was Hoyt… o.O he’s the only one who is near death as far as we know. Why suddenly Jason would be near death and Jessica trying to turn him doesn’t make sense.

Idk! I could be wrong. I’ll try re-watching the episode and pause it on demand to get a better look XD

I do not like the new Bill. I really hope he comes around. They need to get the hell out of that undergound lair, Bill needs to see and speak to Sookie for him to realize his humanity again and break Lilith and Salomes spell. I just really don’t want Bill to be a bad guy because that will not bode well for the upcoming seasons…Do you guys think a main character will die this season? I think so but I haven’t figured out who yet. Maybe Pam or Jessica? I don’t know

Bud Dearborne could be that character ? I really don’t know, but I hope it’s not Jessica or Pam, actually I kinda love Pam so … yeah 🙂

So…i know this doesn’t really have anything to do with this post but didn’t know where else to put it. I was re watching season one and it hit me. Bill is a major cock block when out comes to Sookie. He has interrupted her with Sam, Eric, and Alcide. Just thought it was funny :-). He may not be evil but he its a buzz kill…lol

Didn’t Eric tell him, that Salome and his Annoying Vamp Sister would eventually figure out he was pretending. I figure since that may be true he did all this just to secure himself within the annoying Authority fembots before killing them when they least expect it

I think that Bill has a character flaw – he can be very power hungry – and that is what Salome is zeroing in on. It makes him a complex character – he has great qualities and some bad ones.

I also think that Salome is using some sort of drug to control what is going on…remember what Nora said to Eric ..that Salome snuck her into the “chapel” and gave her some of the blood…I think that is how she is able to control everyone. She is very old and maybe she knows of some substance that will affect vampires in a hallucinogenic way. She could have had this on her skin when she slept with Bill and he bit her causing the hallucinations.

I too believe that he is really buying into that whole “praise Lilith” thing. But I must admit that I am very confused by that evolution. First he has always been such an advocate of mainstreaming and not just for show. It seems to me that the show has, until now, always portrayed him as a vampire that was desperate to cling to his humanity, even to the point of self loathing. How he would turn like that just because Salome made him drink of a mother is not very believable to me.

I agree, but I don’t know, it might be because I’ve liked Bill all along, and the chemistry between Moyer and Paquin is fabulous. I can see it on the show and when they do interviews.

Ok, yes they had some vampire blood, but if we remember last season the trip that Eric had when he and Sookie exchanged blood. They did that whole bed in the woods thing. Maybe the blood is laced with Faerie blood, which will make them halucinate. As Eric said, “we were high…”
