Carrie Preston Attached to BFFs

We always love to support our favorite cast and crew in projects they take on during the hiatus. When we heard that Carrie Preston was taking on a new role in an independent comedy that is still trying to get funding, we thought we’d like to help spread the word.

Indiegogo describes “BFFs” as “an ensemble comedy that is part buddy film, part road trip movie, and an all around feel good comedy that will have you laughing one minute and crying the next.  Okay- maybe not the crying part, but there’s enough heart in there that you could  tear up. A little. It’s driven by the two female leads- straight women who pretend to be lovers to take advantage of a free couple’s retreat. Instead of the relaxing weekend they have planned, they find themselves working on their relationship that isn’t really a relationship. Propelled by the strong supporting cast of characters playing the other couples, the two best f*cking friends find themselves discovering more about themselves than they bargained for.”

Carrie plays Rebecca, who joins the Closer Than Closeness retreat with her husband, David. The legendary actress, Pat Carroll (the voice of Ursula in Disney’s The Little Mermaid), also joins the cast as well as Australian film and television legend Sigrid Thornton (“SeaChange,” “The Man from Snowy River,” “The Lighthorsemen”) who plays Jacqueline. Along with her husband Bob, Jacqueline runs the retreat. The two leads are played by Tara Karsian and Andrea Grano.

You can help bring this project to life by becoming a contributor. The goal is $45,000 and as of this post, there are 19 days left to participate. To contribute and for a list of the many perks they are offering, go to indiegogo.com/bffs-the-movie. Let’s get this project running for Carrie, Truebies!
