TVLine reports that Janina Gavankar has signed on for a recurring role on the upcoming FOX sitcom The Goodwin Games. The series is set to debut in January and follows three estranged siblings — played by Becki Newton, Scott Foley (aka True Blood‘s Patrick) and TJ Miller — who are forced to come together in order to inherit their late father’s fortune. Janina plays the mother of Miller’s character’s young daughter, although they are no longer together romantically.

HBO "True Blood" Season 5 Premiere - Red CarpetSo what does this mean for Luna? We were already feeling a little concerned about her fate, and this would seem to confirm our suspicions. However, a recurring role on a sitcom translates to a day or two of work every couple of weeks at most. In addition, Janina will probably have filmed all of her scenes before True Blood season 6 begins production in November or December.

Whatever Luna’s fate, we wish Janina nothing but the best on The Goodwin Games!
