Yeah, we thought the title of the event was confusing, too, so we looked it up: it was for some fancy leather sneakers. We’re more impressed with Alex’s fancy leather jacket! Alan Ball and Sam Trammell attended the GLSEN Respect Awards on Friday. The event honored HBO, David Bohnett, and Shonda Rhimes for their commitment to all America’s students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression. See more photos in the Gallery.

Ryan Kwanten was home in Australia for the Inside Film nominations. The Inside Film Awards celebrate films made in Australia. The ceremony takes place November 18 and tickets are available now. It looks like Ryan has darkened his hair; is that for a film role? See more photos in the Gallery.

PHOTOS: Stephen Moyer, Rutina Wesley Attend Premieres

Last night saw True Blood stars out and about on two continents. Stephen Moyer attended the premiere of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the film Heath Ledger was working on when he died in 2008. Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell stepped in to play the role of Tony after Ledger’s death. See more photos in the Gallery.

Speaking of Jude Law, Rutina Wesley stepped out last night for the debut of his Hamlet on Broadway. After a successful run in London’s West End, Law’s production of Hamlet runs through December 6 in New York. See more photos in the Gallery.

PHOTOS: Alan Ball, Nathan Barr & Lisbeth Scott at LAGL Chamber of Commerce Event

True Blood composer Nathan Barr and vocalist Lisbeth Scott performed “Take Me Home” at last night’s LAGL Chamber of Commerce Gala event in Los Angeles last night. Alan Ball was also there and provided their introduction:

I am one of the lucky ones to have our next performers working as a part of the True Blood team. His music transcends time and place to make fiction become that much more real. Her vocals have an ability to move audiences with an ease that few can hope to achieve. Please welcome my friends, the composer and vocalist from True Blood: Nathan Barr, and Lisbeth Scott.

Reports from those in attendance were that the audience was moved by their performance. Steven Wishnoff, the Emmy-nominated producer of the event, was clearly impacted:

What Nathan Barr and Lisbeth Scott brought to The LAGLCC’s 2009 Gala was amazing. I could never have imagined that what I’d heard and enjoyed in the background of True Blood would be even more beautiful and impactful in person. The sheer genius of Nate’s musicality and Lisbeth’s inspired singing was incredible. As they performed “Take Me Home”, I personally witnessed several audience members weeping at it’s poignant message.

Alex attended the 2009 Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, last night, for the screening of his animated feature, Metropia. Joining Alex was director Tarik Saleh, and both remained to answer questions from the audience after the screening.

Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer Host “A Night of Emotion”

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer hosted “A Night of Emotion” at LA Dogworks in Los Angeles last night benefitting Good Dog Animal Rescue and celebrating animal adoption and service dogs. Anna’s dog, Banjo, was a birthday gift from Stephen who adopted the pup from Good Dog Animal Rescue. They also have another dog, Splash, who has been with Stephen for about 10 years.
