Alan Ball Alan Ball answers the very important question that fans of the Southern Vampire Series are concerned with: how close to the books are you going to stay? He talks about working on another series for HBO, casting, and the vampire genre. The interview is brought to us by Christina Radish of Media Blvd Mag., and we want to thank her. Enjoy!

Academy and Emmy Award-winning writer and director Alan Ball is the man responsible for bringing the successful new HBO television series True Blood to life. Adapted from the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris, the story follows a telepathic waitress in rural Louisiana (played by Academy Award winner Anna Paquin), and her relationship with the much older vampire, Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).

Best known as the creator and executive producer of the critically acclaimed television series Six Feet Under, which aired for five seasons on HBO, the 51-year-old Georgia native tells MediaBlvd Magazine that he is having a great time making the, at times, explicit and violent True Blood.

Over-night fan (almost literally) of the Sookie Stackhouse series since early 2008. Co-owner of True-Blood.net. Anxiously anticipating season 6.
