UPDATE: The Brentwood Theatre

Mark Reed from the Brentwood Theatre sent an update on the fundraising efforts, reporting that more than £4,000  (roughly $7,000) have been donated by True Blood/Stephen Moyer fans so far!

I had wanted to try to describe to all of you how much this means to us here. We are a very small theatre seating about 100 people (we can move the seats around – for Christmas we crammed in 124, twice a day). We are just fifteen years old, spending £75,000 a year to keep going, are used by over forty local drama and musical groups who struggle to pay all the costs of putting on a show, and currently have over 16,000 people buying tickets every year. We have only three or four staff plus loads of volunteers to run this place – and it is the best job in the world. And when you lovely people send money over from America, well, words just cannot convey our gratitude especially when we heard stories of groups of people clubbing together to buy a brick, it really meant so much. I guess what I am trying to say is that we will ensure that thousands of people will benefit from your generosity.

Mark also wanted to let us know that Stephen attended the Christmas production of Fantastic Mr. Fox at the theater and signed certificates for donors; watch for yours to arrive in the mail in a couple of weeks.

If you haven’t made a donation to the theatre yet and would like to, there’s still a need! Visit the Brentwood Theatre website for more information.
