Alexander Skarsgard Signs On For Movie Project

Alexander Skarsgard has added a new project to his list of things to do before filming begins on True Blood‘s (as yet unannounced but pretty much guaranteed) third season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alex has signed on to Straw Dogs, a remake of Sam Peckinpah’s 1971 thriller of the same name.

Rod Lurie is directing the film, in which a Hollywood screenwriter encounters bloody threats and conflict from locals in a small Southern town after he and his wife move there. The film stars James Marsden as the screenwriter with Alex as Charlie, described as a grizzled, athletic type. Sounds like Alex will get to infuse his speech with even more of a Southern drawl than he does as Eric.
