We know that Charlaine Harris fans, and True Blood fans, are eagerly awaiting more from the Sookie Stackhouse universe. With the True Blood season 3 premiere still a couple of months away and the tenth book in the Southern Vampire Mysteries series not due until the beginning of May, we’re excited about getting a little taste of the Sookieverse in the new anthology Crimes by Moonlight: Mysteries from the Dark Side, edited by Charlaine Harris. The collection will be available in bookstores on April 6, and we’re giving away one copy to a lucky fan!

Win a copy of Crimes By Moonlight!

This supernatural mystery anthology is jam-packed with short stories from 20 writers, and features a new short story from Charlaine Harris’s Sookieverse called “Dahlia Underground”, featuring ghosts, werewolves, and magicians. Other stories include Parnell Hall’s darkly humorous “Death of a Vampire”;  Harley Jane Kozak’s contemporary ghost story in “Madeeda”; Lou Kemp’s “In Memory of the Sibylline“, a highly effective horror story about a phantom ship set in the 19th century; and Max Allan Collins’s and Mickey Spillane’s “Grave Matter”, which successfully introduces a supernatural element into the case of a series of mysterious deaths – investigated by Mike Hammer –  in the ironically named town of Hopeful, N.Y. Other contributors include William Kent Krueger, Margaret Maron, and Carolyn Hart.

Sounds like a fun collection to while away a rainy spring afternoon, doesn’t it? And perhaps find a new author in the genre to help bridge the gap between new seasons and novels from the Sookieverse.
