True Blood star Stephen Moyer will be busy during his hiatus from the hit HBO series. The Hollywood Reporter has the exclusive on Stephen’s upcoming schedule, revealing that he’ll star in two films: The Double and Big Valley. In The Double, he’ll play a Russian spy in a film about a retired CIA operative (Richard Gere) forced to partner with a young FBI agent (Topher Grace) to hunt down the killer of a senator in Washington. Filming is set to begin in Detroit on June 21.

Big Valley is the big screen version of the ’60s television drama of the same name that starred Barbara Stanwyck. Jessica Lange will take on Stanwyck’s role as matriarch of a family of ranchers. Stephen will play Jarrod Barkley, an attorney who represents ranchers fighting to keep their land from being taken by railroad companies. Richard Long played him on the TV series. Stephen will be in familiar territory on this one, as it will be filmed in Louisiana, where True Blood is set.

With Priest set for release next March and these two films in production over the summer, we may be seeing a lot of Stephen Moyer on the big and small screen in 2011!
