True Blood Fashion Q&A: Lorena’s Season 2 Wardrobe

By  |  2 Comments

True Blood sure knows how to dress their cast, often resulting in “where can I get that?” emails to us after an episode airs. If we get enough inquiries about an item, we’ll do our best to get the details for you, usually straight from the source – True Blood costume designer Audrey Fisher. This week we answer more emails about Lorena’s fashion, one of the most asked about characters for this column.

"I always dress like this when planning vampire-nappings."

Q. Hey, I’ve been really loving your fashion Q&A and I was wondering if you could help me out and answer one. Back in season 2 episode 6, when we first see Lorena she is wearing a beautiful floor length flowy halter dress. I was wondering if you knew somewhere to find it or one similar. I scanned your site and didn’t see anything about it, and if I missed it, I’m so sorry for wasting your time. But thank you very very much, and I absolutely love the site. – Megan Elizabeth

A. You didn’t miss it, Megan, so no worries! Initially Audrey remembered that she’d purchased it at Loehmann’s and cut it down from a size 12 to a size 0 to fit Mariana Klaveno, but couldn’t recall the brand. A couple of days later, she texted us from Loehmann’s where she was shopping for a new series she’s costuming. Being at the store jogged her memory: the dress was by Adrianna Pappell. It was purchased more than 2 years ago, so finding it now would probably be impossible. However, Audrey recommended keeping an eye on Adrianna’s website to see if something similar pops up in her new collections.

"All this nightgown needs is a hostage..."

Q. I hate to bother you with something from Season 2, but I am in love with the fuschia colored nightgown/robe ensemble Lorena wore whenever she was keeping Bill hostage at the Hotel Carmilla. Is there any way we can find out where to get it or which designer made it? Thanks so much! – Renee

A. It is a beautiful set, isn’t it? Perfect for holding your former lover hostage in a posh hotel room. Ahem. The silk and lace set was made by Jonquil, known for their stunning honeymoon lingerie. Although their current collection doesn’t include the rich jewel tones of Lorena’s set, you can find Jonquil at stores like Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.
